    Dear Toni Tuesday……..

Dear Toni, I have been sick for years with COPD. I know it’s getting worse and the doctors say I have about 3 years at the most to live. I am scared because December showed me how quickly I would go. I am remembering less and less and it scares me to death to not remember my kids, grandkids, true love, high school or my marriages. Doctors say I won’t know a lot soon so I revised my will, updated my life insurance and will live! I know I am not ready to go so God’s Plan will just have to wait! ~J Dear J, I just lost a…

    Dear Toni Tuesday……

Dear Toni, I have been having a hard time with social media. It’s like our lives are based on it. How many likes we get. How many friends we have. How many events we are invited to. Our relationship status. Our meme on our pics. Everything! It’s so hard to keep up. I feel like I waste all my time trying to fit it on social media. It’s so much to keep up with and a lot of pressure. You don’t fit in if you aren’t in with it. I have lost some friends because of it and I’m starting to get depressed. I’m not sure what to do…

Don’t let social media value you……

Our world has been turned into social media. Our relationship status, our friends, our businesses, our family life line, our communication, etc……. It’s everywhere. The YouTuber’s, Instagramer’s, Tweeters, and all others that fall in the social media line. My main go-to is Facebook.  About 81% of Americans are on social media. That’s a lot!!!!! I’m thinking the other 19% is too young and in toddler stage! Social media has brought many people together! Unfortunately, it has torn others apart. We value our connections and some people way exceed their number of connections! The more friends or likes then the more important you are! The more you important you are, the…

When you want to quit life………..keep going!

Life can be tough. It can knock you down. It can barrel you over. It takes unexpected punches we weren’t prepared to protect ourselves from. Life can make us want to curl up and stay there. The outside world is angry and brutal. It is easier to stay inside and hide. Some just don’t want to live it at all and want to give up. But don’t! This is it! One life. One glorious life. I know to many it may not seem too glorious right now. I know there are some on the last leg of wanting to live it. I know there are days that feel like they…

Don’t feed the negative….. be the twist!

Negative, negative, negative!!!! We see it everyday, throughout the day. In social media, news threads, news broadcasts, sitcoms, comedy…… everywhere! You just can’t seem to get away from it. I have had a few friends taking breaks from social media because of it. I see tweets that start arguments. I see Facebook posts ending friendships. It’s absolutely out of control. Or is it? I will admit I have been drawn into the negative here and there. I have had my share of being unfriended. Not because I was being really negative but I was sharing what others didn’t want to hear. I am still hurt over a loss that happened…

Stand for what you believe but know when to sit back………

We all have our opinions of how we think things should be in life. To living a healthy lifestyle or living it with junk food and the remote. To saying the Pledge of Allegiance in school or taking it away. To saying chicken should be baked instead of fried. Shaken and not stirred. Pretty much everything in life has our own opinions. That is what makes us unique. It is what makes progress in the world. It brings change and hope. It also brings conflict, deceit, and hostility. I think everyone should stand up for what they believe in. I have a few beliefs I project out. My biggest is “keep moving forward.” I honestly think…

    Stop blaming and take responsibility……..

I know it can be easier to blame someone else rather than take responsibility for something that can be bad. A mistake, an accident, an argument, finances, relationship, and the list goes on. It is so easy to say, “Well, if YOU didn’t do this, then none of this would be happening!” instead of just looking at a situation and trying to fix it. We like to be right. We don’t like to claim when something bad can be our fault. We would rather pass the blame somewhere else so we don’t have to accept the responsibility that we are at fault. Even if we are not at fault we…

To complain or not to complain……….

Complaining has become a national pass time. It is so much easier to complain about something than try to fix it or accept it. In most cases, complaining gets you no where. It may feel good for the moment and getting it off your chest brings relief, but that is about it. Also, it would be safe to say that most people just don’t care to hear what you are complaining about anyway. Do any of you have those friends on Facebook or Twitter who constantly complain? I know I have a few. But only a few! I try to keep that negative energy away from me. I do, however,…

    Take Control………..

Many of us feel like our lives are out of control. Either nothing is getting done or it is spinning around in circles and we can’t do anything to stop it, slow it down, or get a grip on what is happening. Life is controlling what direction you are going, what you are doing, and it is taking away a lot of fun. Humans like control.  Yes, some of us are “control freaks”! But having a little control is better than no control.  Even when you do not have control, you have control. So whatever control you can get, take it! When you think you have no control, find it.…
