Dear Toni Tuesday……..
Dear Toni,
I am in college with only one more year to go. I don’t think I want to pursue this degree and thinking of quitting school and just getting a job. I don’t want to disappoint my parents but I’m tired of school and don’t know what I want to do now. What do you suggest?

Dear A~
I suggest that you stay in school and finish out your degree. I suggest this for a few reasons. One being that I feel education is strongly important if you are able to get it. This is not something to take for granted. If your plans change, you can always go back later once you make that decision. In the meantime, many jobs require a 4 year degree and it doesn’t necessarily have to be in the same field. Just having the degree is a bonus!
Also, once you finish school and start working that is pretty much the end of non-working life. Enjoy this time and finish out your school years. Unless you are a career student, once these years are gone, they are gone!
Finish what you start. Don’t put in such effort only to walk away at the end. You will have a few years of school behind you but nothing to show for it. To be that close to a degree and NOT finish will do you no justice. Unless you are Bill Gates, have a great business lined up, or a huge job offer……… get the degree.
The last year will go by sooner than you know. It might take a little more effort with your heart not completely into it, but I really believe it will be worth it!
Best of luck to you and keep me posted! Happy New Year!
Toni 🙂
